Wallace was born and raised in Sumter County, GA, where he was born on January 24, 1943. As a young kid, he worked for a few years as a soda jerk at the local Varsity restaurant in Americus and also delivered newspapers. MIKE EVANS, age 71, of Eastman, GA, was born on December 10, 1952, and passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in Bleckley Memorial Hospital in Cochran, GA, after an extended illness. He graduated from Dodge County High School, Class of 1970, and was co-owner and operator of Evans Grocery and Market until 1991. He retired from the Eastman Post Office after 32 years as a Rural Letter Carrier and was a proud member of the USPS Million Mile Club. He was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church and was actively involved until he was no longer able.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Herbert Evans.
